Mould Assessments

Microorganisms are a normal and essential component of the Earth’s terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems. Bacteria and fungi break down and recycle complex inorganic and organic materials present in all decaying materials. However, some microorganisms when present in indoor environments may cause adverse health effects, which could be allergic, irritative, or even toxic in nature.

Mould growth inside buildings is usually due to the presence of excess moisture caused by flooding, leakage, condensation or capillary movement of water into these structures. Toxic moulds such as Stachybotrys chartarum grow on wet cellulose based materials, and are often found near leaks or where drying is very slow.

T. Harris Environmental Management Inc. has unrivaled expertise and experience with investigation of moulds, amassed as a result of conducting studies in thousands of structures. We can investigate, identify, and mitigate any potential or existing mould contamination. Our approach is based on rational and economically responsible solutions to a very contentious issue.
